Staff Nurse, Intensive Outpatient Program

The IOP Staff Nurse provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit; coordinates care planning and implementation with other disciplines.

Job Responsibilities/Duties

  • Demonstrates the ability to perform comprehensive nursing assessment inclusive of bio-psychosocial and other medical and mental health conditions.
  • Has the ability to clinically differentiate between normal and abnormal communication problems of patients and their families.
  • Assesses patient behaviors and documents appropriately.
  • Assumes responsibility for scheduled or more frequent rounds throughout the unit; provides assistance to staff.
  • Ensures accuracy of documentation through chart review and knowledge of behavioral health unit policies and procedures.
  • Monitor compliance with multi-disciplinary treatment plan schedule.
  • Ensures unit safety by identifying changes in patient behaviors as well as identifying patient problems, both real and potential.
  • Participates as a group activity facilitator.
  • Creates a safe, non-judgmental and non-threatening environment for the client-staff interactions.
  • Respects cultural and psychosocial value systems while considering the client s developmental stages.


Minimum Education: Bachelor of Science or Arts (BS or BA) Degree.

Minimum Experience: One year in a mental health setting preferred.

Req. Certification/Licensure:Current: California RN license; BLS; MAB; Fire Safety Certification.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
